On January 4, 2016, an explosive device was detonated at Camp Baron, a secured residential facility housing civilian technical contractors near Kabul International Airport. The attack resulted in the death of one Afghan civilian and wounded thirty others, including nine children. Camp Baron was a heavily fortified compound that served as accommodation for international civilian contractors working in Afghanistan.
