The Taliban shot and killed a police officer and took prisoner two civilians, including a radio station director from Dasht-e-Abdan area of Kunduz City, the provincial capital. The police officer and civilians were traveling in a vehicle when they were stopped in a Taliban checkpoint. The officer tried to escape, but he was shot and wounded. When the insurgents saw his pistol and badge, they killed him.
