On June 18, 2023, a violent incident occurred in the Zartali area of Firuzkoh district, Ghor province, close to the border with Daykundi province. Two men, Musa (45) and Mawladad (35), were traveling in a Truck towards Ghor when they were intercepted and shot at by two unidentified armed assailants. Both passengers were severely wounded in the attack. Musa, who was shot near his spine, has undergone multiple surgeries and remains bedridden, unable to work or engage in regular activities. Musa is from Qariwdal village, while Mawladad is from the center of Sang-e-Takht wa Bandar district. As of this report, the motive behind the attack and the identities of the perpetrators remain unknown. No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the shooting. The Taliban authorities have not announced any investigation or follow-up regarding this incident.
