On February 11, 2017, Taliban militants conducted a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) attack targeting Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers who were collecting their salaries at the New Kabul Bank in Lashkargah. The explosion killed seven civilians, including three children and two women, and wounded nine others, including four children and two women. The attack also resulted in military casualties among the ANA soldiers present at the bank.
