On September 7, 2015, one pro-government armed group ambushed another pro-government armed group in the district centre of Khan Abad, Kunduz Province. The attack stemmed from a long-standing dispute between commanders of the two groups. During the exchange of small arms fire, civilian bystanders were struck by bullets, resulting in four civilian deaths, including one woman, and injuries to four others, including two women.
