- Summary
On February 18, 2022, Mohammad Juma and his brother, a cashier, were arrested at Angouri market by Taliban forces. When local residents sought their release in Jaghuri district, the district governor and Taliban security commander denied responsibility, stating the arrest was ordered by authorities in Ghazni province. The brothers were reportedly detained due to funds received from abroad for the 2018 popular uprising front. Although they were released the following day, the Taliban demanded a payment of $100,000, threatening re-arrest if the amount was not paid.
