A Kandahar Strike Force unit carried out a raid on the home of Mohammad Gul, the principal of the local primary school. A relative identified by the initials M.M. said that Gul was at home with his wife and daughters during the raid. M.M. believed that the forces came from the nearby Gekho base. During the raid, the soldiers locked the women in a room and then shot Gul three times, killing him. They then dragged the body out to the courtyard. Per the New York Times, five villagers were also arrested.
