- Summary
On May 18, 2015, Taliban forces launched a large pre-dawn attack on the district center in Khas Uruzgan District, Uruzgan Province. The assault resulted in heavy fighting concentrated around the Qomandani (district police headquarters), the Woleswali (district governor's building), and the nearby Shah Zaman School. The fighting continued for several hours and resulted in the deaths of twelve policemen and the school's principal, Abdul Alem Khan, who had previously served as the district governor. Many others, including civilians, were injured in the attack.
