On May 4, 2015, Taliban forces stopped public buses in Khaki Safed District of Farah Province and abducted fifteen civilians on suspicion of working for the government. Later the same day, a Taliban commission determined that eight of the detainees were innocent and two were guilty of government affiliation. The Taliban executed one of the accused civilians by beheading on May 4, followed by the beheading of the second accused civilian on May 6, 2015. The eight civilians deemed innocent were released, while the fate of the remaining five abductees was not specified.
