- Summary
Approximately 100 people, mostly women and children, were traveling from their village to the Sha Agha shrine when a Taliban pressure-plate improvised explosive device exploded. Thirteen civilians were killed and 40 others were injured in the blast. According to UNAMA interviews, one woman lost five family members in the attack, all of whom were children. The incident targeted pilgrims making a religious journey to the shrine.
