- Summary
On September 28, 2015, two mortar rounds struck a populated area in Chahar Dara District of Kunduz Province. According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), at least two civilians were killed and seventeen were injured in the attack. According to victim and witness accounts, the first mortar round hit a civilian house, injuring two members of a family. When villagers gathered to assist the injured, a second mortar round struck this group of first responders. At the time of the incident, the area was reportedly under Taliban control.
