On January 10, 2017, two women traveling in a Corolla car were killed when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Kanask area of Bala Buluk district. One of the victims was the mother of a police officer who had been killed in a similar bombing in the Shakh Bala area days earlier. No group claimed responsibility for planting the explosive device.
