After Taliban forces attacked a military base in the Bala Dori area of Puli Khumri City, air support was called in by ground forces. A residential house located three miles away from the battlefield was bombed, killing seven civilians from the same family, including women and children, according to local officials and relatives of those killed. It was not clear whether the airstrike was carried out by American or Afghan air power.
