- Summary
On May 25, 2015, a Taliban suicide attacker detonated a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VB-IED) targeting the Provincial Council compound in Qalat, Zabul Province. The explosion wounded seventy-nine civilians, including thirty women and two children. Among the victims were women attending a tailoring course organized by the Department of Women's Affairs in a nearby building. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they had targeted the Provincial Council and killed nineteen "hirelings" while wounding over one hundred.
