Khost Protection Force, supported by air assets from international forces, conducted a search operation against Taliban targets in Haibat Khail village. During the operation, Khost Protection Force personnel killed five civilian men from one family, including a father, his three sons, and his nephew. The victims were taken in front of their house where they were executed by the Khost Protection Force.
