On 2 October 2015, a witness in Kunduz City saw gunfire from an unknown location about 20 meters ahead of him that killed two men and a boy. While making his way back home, he witnessed a girl and her father shot to death in the streets in a similar manner. Like many others, the resident was forced to remain in his home with scarce supplies, unable to flee the ongoing fighting.
