On February 8, 2019, Afghan Government Forces conducted a helicopter attack on a family home in Sangin district. A helicopter was hovering low over the family's residence when the husband went outside to see what was happening. The helicopter fired on him, injuring both his legs. When his wife and daughter went out to help, they were also shot. The attack killed a four-year-old daughter who was shot in the stomach and a 10-year-old son who was shot in the head. This incident represents a deliberate attack on a civilian family by government forces.
