Summary of incident

The Taliban attacked an Afghan National Police checkpoint with small arms fire. At the same time, an ambulance with a police escort was driving past. A bullet fired by the Taliban struck the driver of the escort, injuring him, and threatening the safety of the medical convoy as it proceeded to its destination.
