NDS02 carried out a search in Nasir Khil and called in air support after coming under fire. The New York Times also reported on the incident, stating that 13 civilians (including several children) were killed in American airstrikes in support of the Afghan operation against the Taliban. Naser Khil, tribal elder, said that the airstrikes hit two houses. In one house, the village's lone doctor, his wife, and five teenage daughters were killed. In the other, the doctor's brother, his wife, and their four children reportedly died.
