On March 8, 2017, ISIS militants conducted a complex attack on a military hospital in Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul. The assault began with a suicide bombing, followed by attackers dressed in medical uniforms who entered the facility and shot patients and civilians. The attack killed 30 people and injured 50 others. This deliberate targeting of a medical facility constituted a grave violation of international humanitarian law protecting healthcare infrastructure.
