From June 15 to June 30, 2015, following a a series of ground fighting in Kunduz Province, six civilians became casualties of pressure-planted Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Two civilians were killed and four were injured by these devices. The IEDs had been planted by anti-government elements, including Taliban fighters and their affiliated militias, with the apparent aim of inhibiting the movement of pro-government forces in the area.
