- Summary
On September 2, 2015, Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) fighters attacked Taliban positions in Pachir Wa Agam District of Nangarhar Province using small arms and rocket-propelled grenades. During the attack, ISKP fighters deliberately targeted the civilian population, reportedly due to their perceived support for local Taliban. Nine civilian men were killed, including three who were burned to death in a civilian home. Eight other civilians were injured, including two women. On the same day, ISKP forces abducted twenty-six civilians, including one woman. The captives were released in November 2015 after being forced to pledge not to support either the Taliban or any national uprising movement.
