On January 10, 2017, coordinated suicide bombings occurred outside the Parliament Administration building in Kabul during the early-evening rush hour as workers were leaving for the day. The attack involved both body-borne and vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (IEDs), causing 109 civilian casualties, including 34 deaths (one of them a child) and 75 injured. The Taliban claimed responsibility for this complex attack that deliberately targeted civilians during a high-traffic period.
