- Summary
On August 3, 2015, fifteen Afghan Local Police (ALP) officers entered a village in Takhar Province conducting a search operation for Taliban fighters. When a villager attempted to inform the officers that there were no Taliban present in the village, both he and his grandfather were physically assaulted with rifle butts. During the operation, ALP personnel also fired shots at residential houses, resulting in injuries to a child.
