On May 24, 2015, Anti-Government Elements attacked Afghan National Security Forces checkpoints in a civilian-populated area of Khugiani District, Ghazni Province. The attackers used small arms, rocket-propelled grenades, and mortars. The subsequent exchange of fire resulted in injuries to twelve civilians, including six women and three children. Due to the intensity of the clash, sources were unable to determine which side was responsible for the civilian casualties.
