Taliban fighters launched a coordinated suicide attack on police headquarters in Puli Khumri, targeting officers who were lined up to collect their monthly pay. The assault killed 20 police officers and wounded 62 others. Among those wounded in the attack were 12 civilians, including eight women and four children who were in the vicinity of the police facility during the coordinated assault.
