On July 14, 2017, Afghan Special Forces conducted a night raid in the Sajawal locality of Tarin kowt, the provincial capital of Uruzgan. According to residents and hospital sources, six civilians were killed and 14 others were injured during the operation. Local resident Adam Khan reported that security forces opened fire on civilians during the raid. Dr. Ziaurahman, head of Tarinkot Civil Hospital, confirmed that among the injured were four women, three children, and several men, with the critically injured transferred to Kandahar for treatment.
