On October 13, 2018, unknown armed men opened fire on an election office in Injil district, killing a 7-year-old child and a private security guard. Two other children were wounded in the attack. This assault on electoral infrastructure resulted in casualties among both security personnel and innocent children who were present at or near the facility.
