On August 27, 2017, at around 6:30 PM local time, a suicide bomber detonated explosives targeting an armored vehicle of security forces in Nawa district. The attack killed at least 13 people and wounded more than 19 others, with over 30 total casualties. According to security officials, both civilians and security personnel were among those killed and wounded in the blast. No group immediately claimed responsibility, though the Taliban were suspected.
