- Summary
On January 5, 2017, two separate magnetic bomb explosions occurred in eastern Nangarhar and central Parwan provinces. In Jalalabad, Nangarhar province, a magnetic bomb attached to a civilian vehicle detonated, killing one person and wounding between one and four others according to conflicting reports. The Nangarhar Zonal Hospital director confirmed receiving one dead body and four injured civilians. In a similar incident in Chahrikar, Parwan province, three civilians were wounded when a magnetic bomb exploded in the central square. The Parwan Civil Hospital reported receiving two injured individuals from this incident.
