- Summary
On April 26, 2022, a minivan en route to Mazar-e-Sharif was intercepted in the Regi pass between the Samangan and Balkh provinces. The passengers, six Hazara miners, were forcibly removed from the vehicle by unidentified armed men. They first confiscated the miners' personal possessions, including money and mobile phones. Subsequently, the miners were shot. The motive for this act remains undetermined. Of the six miners, one survived, sustaining serious injuries.
