Arijit Singh was kidnapped by unknown people and killed. Singh's body was found and buried by Kabul police in March 2019, despite his family reporting him missing. His family was upset that he was not returned to them for burial and said that the police should have known that he was Sikh due to his turban. Police arrested a husband and wife in connection with Singh's kidnapping and death. Sikhs are frequently targeted by police looking for bribes. They also report discrimination in court cases and educational facilities.
