On 16 May 2020, the Taliban attacked an Afghan National Police checkpoint in Qala i Kah District, Farah Province, resulting in an armed clash that lasted almost four hours. During the fight, the Taliban fired rocket-propelled grenades towards the police, which struck an NGO-operated health clinic located approximately 80 to 100 meters from the checkpoint. A healthcare worker, the clinic's cook, and a female patient sustained injuries. Three rooms, the surrounding wall of the clinic, and most windows and doors were damaged. During the engagement, the Taliban entered the health clinic for shelter, jeopardizing the health and safety of all other patients and healthcare workers in the facility.
