Six civilians were killed during a joint raid by Afghan and American special operation forces in the Khalij area of Gizab District. Taliban fighters took shelter in a residential home while fighting the security forces, using the civilian structure as cover. Several children and the owner of the house in which the Taliban had taken shelter were among the six civilians killed. Local authorities claimed that eight Taliban fighters were also killed in the clashes.
