At least seven civilians and three police officers were killed in an attack on the Afghan communications ministry in central Kabul, with eight additional civilians wounded. The assault began shortly before midday when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at the entrance to the multistory building housing the ministry. The initial explosion was followed by sustained gunfire that could be heard over a mile away from the government facility. The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack on the communications ministry.
