On August 29, 2017, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at a bank in Kabul located close to the US Embassy and the city's main diplomatic quarter. The attack killed at least five people and wounded nine others, according to Mohammad Salim Rasouli, chief of Kabul hospitals at the Health Ministry. This bombing targeted a financial institution in the heavily secured diplomatic area of the capital.
