According to local residents of the Sarcheshma area in Jalrez District, Maidan Wardak Province, a series of events unfolded following the Taliban's rise to power on August 15, 2021. Several prominent and socially active individuals from the area, known to have connections with Commander Alipour, fled the region in the immediate aftermath of the previous government's collapse. Initially, these individuals relocated to Kabul. However, due to perceived pursuit by Taliban forces, they subsequently sought refuge in Iran and Pakistan. In response to their inability to apprehend these individuals, Taliban authorities reportedly detained five of their brothers from the villages of Pusht Mazar/Mazar, Qala-e-Sabz, and Siah Khak. Local sources report that some of the detainees have been released after interrogation and alleged torture. However, as of the time of this report, an unspecified number remain in Taliban custody.
