Narrative:
On April 14, 2015, a group of ten Afghanistan Local Police (ALP) members severely beat eight civilians, including two boys, using rifle butts in Sayyad District of Sare Pol Province. Following the assault, the ALP members reportedly prevented the victims from seeking medical attention for several hours. According to statements provided to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the ALP conducted the assault as a form of collective punishment after livestock from the victims' village allegedly damaged crops in the ALP members' village. The incident stemmed from a dispute over land use.
