On March 19, 2017, Taliban militants kidnapped three passengers on the road between Farah city, the provincial capital, and Farah Rod district. The victims were from Takhar province and were traveling to Kabul to be recruited into the Afghan National Army. Taliban fighters stopped the passenger car, pulled out the three men, and took them to an unknown location.
