After the Taliban attacked a military base in the Bala Dori area of Pul-i-Kumri City, air support was called in by forces on the ground. A house located three miles away from the battlefield was bombed, killing seven civilians from the same family, women and children among them, according to local officials and the relatives of those killed. It was not clear whether the airstrike was carried out by American or Afghan air power.
