Perpetrators: Taliban Incident Type: Targeted assassination using a magnetic Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Claimed Responsibility: Taliban Narrative: On January 7, 2015, a magnetic Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated on a private Corolla car near the Eidgah Mosque in Jalalabad City, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. The explosion resulted in the death of a judge from the Appeal Court of Laghman Province and injured two of his daughters who were with him at the time. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. In their statement, they acknowledged killing the judge identified the two injured individuals as the judge's bodyguards.
