On November 10, 2016, Taliban militants conducted a complex attack on the German consulate in Mazar-e Sharif. The assault began when attackers rammed the outer wall with a truck bomb, followed by an armed assault as militants battled security forces overnight. At least four people were killed in the attack on the diplomatic facility.
