On October 20, 2018, two remotely-detonated improvised explosive devices (RC-IEDs) placed on the roof and gate of a school serving as a polling center exploded in Mihtarlam City. The blasts injured 12 men and two children. This attack deliberately targeted electoral infrastructure housed in an educational facility, endangering both voters and children.
