On February 9, 2019, a mine placed inside the heater of a mosque exploded before evening prayer in Saydabad district, killing one civilian and wounding several others. Some residents suspected that the explosive device was placed by strangers who had stayed in the mosque the night before. This attack deliberately targeted a religious site during prayer time, endangering worshippers.
