In early April 2022, Taliban intelligence operatives in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan, arrested two former employees of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) from the provincial center. According to informed sources, the detained individuals were:
Lieutenant Khodadad, a resident of Bamyan center Lieutenant Ismail, a resident of Waras district
The Taliban reportedly summoned these former NDS employees under the pretext of attendance verification, then took them to an undisclosed location and detained them. Initially, limited information was available about their situation. Both individuals have been released later. However, it has been reported that Lieutenant Ismail was subjected to severe torture during his detention.
