In Hoot 1400 AH (February-March 2022), Amini, a Hawaladar (traditional money transfer agent) and money exchange shop owner from Angoori Village in Jaghori district, was arrested without charges by Mullah Pirouz, the Taliban Security Chief, and Molavi Anas, the District Head of Taliban General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI). Amini was severely tortured and beaten by the Taliban,as they demanded 200,000 US dollars from him. Although he was released on bail, Amini is required to report to the Taliban weekly, and his case remains unresolved since he was not able to pay the amount.
