Following the announcement of Parliament election results in Baghlan, angry candidates and their supporters blocked the North Kabul highway in Puli Khumri City in protest. Afghan security forces opened fire on the crowd to clear the highway, killing one protester and wounding six others. Despite the use of force, the highway remained closed following the incident.
