- Summary of incident
On October 13, 2015, armed militants abducted seven Hazara civilians, including two women, two boys, and a nine-year-old girl named Shukria Tabassum, in Ghazni while they were traveling on the Kabul-Kandahar highway. Between November 6 and 8, the militants executed all seven individuals, including the children, by slitting their throats brutally with kite threads. Their bodies were subsequently left at a hospital in the Zabul Valley. This incident led to significant protests in Kabul City, collectively known as the Tabassum Movement, which called for increased accountability and enhanced protection for the Hazara community. ISIL-KP claimed responsibility for these killings.
