Narrative:

On July 5, 2015, following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack against two Afghan Local Police (ALP) members, a group of ALP killed a shopkeeper named Yamagul and severely beat two other civilians in the Surkhi bazaar of Ghorband district, Parwan Province. On July 6, 2015, local residents organized a protest demanding that the government establish a fact-finding mission to investigate the previous day's events. During the demonstration, ALP personnel providing security fired into the crowd, killing one civilian man and injuring six others. Both incidents reportedly occurred under the command of the same ALP commander. The subsequent government fact-finding investigation concluded that the civilian casualties occurred during a ground engagement between Taliban forces and ALP following the IED attack. The investigation dismissed allegations against the ALP as propaganda.
