On February 1, 2017, members of a pro-government armed group placed a magnetic improvised explosive device (IED) in a carpet shop in Khamyab district. The device detonated, killing the shopkeeper who had refused to pay taxes to the group. The explosion also injured three other civilians. This incident represents an extrajudicial killing carried out by irregular forces affiliated with the government.
